Aer - Spades, Clubs, & Diamonds

Aer will always have a spot reserved on this blog. Love their sound and have been following them for what feels like a really long time at this point. Seem them a couple of times and they are great live too. We highly recommend them if you are not already on the bandwagon. Enjoy folks!

Sammy Adams - Homecoming EP

If you are unlike us at W&F and you are into Sammy Adams, I would definitely recommend checking this out. It is doing very well on iTunes, which suggests that many of you would disagree with my opinion. Props to this guy as he keeps doing his thing and he definitely has developed a following. Enjoy folks!

YONAS - The Transition (Deluxe)

W&F favorite, YONAS, has released the Deluxe edition of The Transition that he has been promoting for some time. Personally, the man can do no wrong, musically. Take a peak at what he had to say about the release on Facebook and take a listen to the release below from his SoundCloud page.

Liked · Yesterday

It's officially here!! A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into producing the music on this album, and I just want to thank everyone in advance for supporting it. As an independent artist who has witnessed how powerful music can be, I truly hope this record reaches great distances, and effects people in a positive way. This album is a culmination of a few fan favorites, a few new songs, and a few surprise remixes. Click the link below to buy the album on iTunes and enjoy -http://smarturl.it/rckiqh

Eminem - Rap God

ZoMg @_@_@_@_@_@_@!

It's no secret that I love Em, but even I must admit that his last couple of "sober" albums have been lame compared to his early career.

HOWEVER, there is a certain buzz about The Marshall Mathers LP 2 album coming out in November.

I mean, did you guys see him on national TV during that football game?
CLEARLY NOT SOBER...and also, OMG @ at around 4:15 O_o!

Azad Right - Now I Know (Prod. By Jonathan Marquez)

Chiddy Bang - HeartBeat (Feat. Two Guyz)

Listen to this with some good sound so you can hear the production intricacies here. I am a fan of the production and I always love CB's flow. First time I listened to it just over my laptop's speakers and didn't love it, but upon second inspection through my headphones, I am loving it. Enjoy folks!

Drake - Wu-Tang Forever

A little Drizzy for your Friday. Don't love him like I used to, but I enjoyed the 9AM in Dallas reference in there because I DO love that track. Enjoy folks.

Eminem - BERZERK

I will definitely have to listen to this a few times to get all the lyrics n such down, but I am very intrigued by this production coming out of the Shady camp. The obvious Beastie Boys influence is an interesting way for Eminem to go, but I think the style on this track matches nicely the title, BERZERK.

Overall, jury is still out on this one, but I can say I do not like it as much as Survival.

News: According to DJBooth, Em will be releasing his sequel to the Marshall Mathers LP on November 5th. Mark that day down in your calendars folks as that album is considered by many to be one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever released. I, for one, am interested to see the next chapter in the Marshall Mathers story.

Enjoy below folks (sorry it is the clean version)! :)

Robin Thicke - Give It 2 U (Feat. 2 Chainz & Kendrick Lamar) (...& Miley Cyrus O_o)

You are all probably very familiar with this song at this point, but mostly thanks to Miley Cyrus. Home girl is crazy, but she is getting her attention and also sharing some of the spotlight with this song in the process. Robin Thicke is putting out dimes these days man...check him out.

Also, this for the lulz:

Nameluss - Never Quit

My apologies as I know I'm a little late to the party on this one.

To me, though, this track embodies what Nameluss is best at.
Not sure if it is his personality or just his voice, but a little anger/edge/whatever it is in his music really suits his flow.

His tone and the way he delivers his lyrics really work with that edge.

Really hope his following continues to grow as he really has a solid base of tracks now that I think a lot of people would enjoy.

The Triads - All Around the World

Wait...is today "blow Thomas' mind with amazing music day"?

After our posting of Insomniac a while back, I was beginning to wonder if we would ever hear from these fellas again. Man, has this blog missed them! This track is an absolute bombshell for me and I no longer have to stress about having at least one track I will blast on repeat this summer.

Here's what The Triads have to say about this track in their own words:

We're confident that this track showcases both our improvement as well as our versatility as artists. Produced by Orlando Martinez and Mixed by our very own James Black, this song is very anthemic for this upcoming summer.

Check 'em out on Facebook and via the Twitter handles below!

J. Cole - Truly Yours 2

I always rep North Carolina and ColeWorld is no exception.

I, especially, am enjoying the Kenny Lofton reference. Raise your hand if you're a Braves fan! #Jeezyverse

In Truly Yours 2, we find a little taster for what is to come in Born Sinner, releasing soon. I'm still listening to this, but I am enjoying it so far, which has not consistently been the case with Jermaine for a while. The man has skill, but doesn't really seem to be able to harness it on a consistent level for me.

Having said that, this is good stuff and I am looking forward to Born Sinner. Enjoy folks!

Beyonce - Back To Black (Feat. Andre 3000)

Dear lord...O_o.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but if it is as good as the soundtrack then that should be considered a success. Everything I have heard from it, thus far, has been amazing.

Am I the only one getting goose bumps by the time Beyonce starts singing? Check out Back To Black below and enjoy!

Tity Boi Meets Fast & Furious

Mr. Rolling Papers, Taylor Gang, Paper Planes, I'm So Fly, Young Khalifa comes in SO WEAK on this track (as always).

Having said that, 2 Chainz isn't anything special either, but at least he gets a little more geetered (as always)...

Shade Sheist - You Already Know Who It Is

YONAS - Feel The Love

W&F favorite, YONAS, is hard at work on his newest project, The Transition 2. Here for our enjoyment is the first FREE leak off the upcoming album called Feel The Love.

In classic YONAS form, he takes a sample we all know and makes it his own, killing it in the process. I am still trying to find a song by this rising star that I do not like, but I have had no success thus far.

Enjoy Feel The Love below, courtesy of YONAS' SoundCloud, and be sure to grab the FREE DOWNLOAD while you can. Something tells me that we will be paying for everything from this guy some day soon. Enjoy folks!

KiD CuDi - Girls (Feat. Just What I Am, Immortal, & Girls)

Obligatory post whenever Cudi drops something. This coming off of the forthcoming INDICUD album that is supposed to be out later in April.

While I do have to post Cudi's stuff, I don't have to like it...I hate this track. I would venture to advise you not to waste your time listening to it, but it is Cudi so I understand if you do.

Hopefully y'all will like this more than I do.

Big Sean - Switch Up (Feat. Common)

I'm not always the biggest proponent of Big Sean. In fact, when I saw one of my old favorites, Common, dropping on a track with him I was quite incensed.

Moving forward, I actually don't hate this song...in fact, it's growing on me a little bit. Check it out and see for yourselves.

Big K.R.I.T. & 9th Wonder - Reign On

I still have some Krizzle tracks in my inbox that I need to post, but I heard this and new it was a priority. Reign On combines one of my favorite southern artists with the legendary 9th Wonder and straight up kills this! Not only should you enjoy this track for Big K.R.I.T.'s flow, but there is also a free download to take advantage of! Enjoy folks!

Expect more Krizzle posts to come in the near future!

Tru Fam - Rich Kids (Official Music Video)

As previously mentioned here, Tru Fam have been working hard on this music video for their latest project, Rick Kids. The video itself is pretty tight in all fairness and the song has already proven itself to me. I really like the mystical vibe to this track and have been thoroughly enjoying the Rich Kids vocals for some time now. Check it out for yourself below and enjoy!

More to come from Tru Fam soon!

Quiet Storm - One Take (Music Video)

I love it when artists and their reps reach out to the blog for posts because it shows a real initiative and that they have at least paid a little attention to our posts.

Gotta say that I am really glad I gave this guy a shot because he takes a sample that I recognized immediately from my favorite Childish Gambino song, Freaks and Geeks, and went in on it. I'm not gonna equate him with Donald just yet because DG is one of my favorites out right now, but Quiet Storm definitely has a good sound to him and I think a lot of y'all will enjoy this Long Island talent. Check One Take out below and look out for more posts from this fella as I come across them. Thanks!

YONAS on "The Black Canvas"

Saw this post today on YONAS' Facebook and couldn't help but to share it with everyone! Check the picture out above or you can see the full quote below:

What does the black canvas mean?: "The black canvas to me, is a metaphor for struggle. While traditionally canvas's are an off white color (meant to compliment all the different potential paint colors an artist might use) the black canvas is one that starts out dark. To me it represents someone being born into a dark situation, and having to create the light and optimism in their lives. If the whole world consisted of painters, the ones given a black canvas, are the ones given a disadvantage. But still we rise." - YONAS

Also, if you haven't already, check out The Black Canvas below and enjoy the mastery!

"Frank Ocean Can Fly" - Jeff Himmelman

Came across this awesome post on Grammy's-snub, Frank Ocean, by Jeff Himmelman of the New York Times. It is a long write-up, but I read it all the way through and found it to be completely worth my time. Check it out and enjoy y'all.

Also, if you, somehow, have not already listened to channel ORANGE, then check it out via SoundCloud and/or iTunes.

Yelawolf - Way Out

Yelawolf can be too much for me at times, but there is no denying that he has talent and a lot of people like him. Way Out is a pretty dope track, although not my favorite from the man. It is a single off his upcoming Trunk Muzik Returns, set to release on March 14, via Yela's website.

Paris 96 - Afternoon

Paris 96, aka Theophilus London and Jesse Boykins III, have released a new track for our listening pleasure titled, Afternoon. These two artists were a group while they were coming up together in the past and thought this was a perfect time to reconnect.

London sticks to his promise of a new track every week here as Chiddy Bang's Xaphoon Jones joins the duo with a hazy beat that we can all vibe to. This is not my absolute favorite style in this genre, but Theophilus London is a good time and I think he has earned a post for y'all to decide for yourselves.

Enjoy the free downloads below and look forward to Paris 96 releasing an EP in the coming months, most likely April. Enjoy folks!

Also, check out Theophilus London's earlier February work, Jump (Club Cheval Rap Remix), as he has promised a new track for every week of this month.

Drake - Started From The Bottom

Apologize for the delay on this posting...have had a lot of new stuff going on recently and it will probably continue for a little while. So, if you would try be patient with me, I will greatly appreciate it!

New Drake stuff is usually worth, at least, a posting, no matter what the quality may be. I have not been a big Drake fan since So Far Gone to be honest. The most recent Drake track I really bumped, in all honesty, was Congratulations.

Having said that, I know other people are big fans of him. So, here y'all go. I hope y'all enjoy it folks!

Snoop Lion's "Lighters Up" Visuals

This post is a long time coming...was pumped when I first saw these visuals because I am absolutely obsessed with the track itself. Love the vibes on this song. Well done to Lion, Diplo, and the rest of the crew on all of the new work coming out of these collaborations.

T.I. - Memories Back Then (Feat. Kendrick Lamar, B.o.B, & Kris Stephens)

This has been a pretty clutch find for me while scrolling through some old e-mails tonight. Not on his newest album for reasons having to do with the sample, I believe. All four of the artists on this track did an absolutely awesome job here. Take a listen and I am confident you will like what you hear. Enjoy folks!

Sikai - Falling Star (Feat. XV)

Checked this song out because XV, a W&F favorite, is on the track. Gotta say, Sikai is not my favorite, but he does a pretty good job on this and I am SO digging the sample he and T. Armani used. XV goes in with his usual high pitched, tight flow. This is definitely worth checking out, despite my feelings towards Sikai because he is the type of artist others will enjoy. He will probably even grow on me with this track. Enjoy folks!

YONAS - The Black Canvas EP

Long-awaited, The Black Canvas has finally been released for our listening pleasure by W&F favorite, YONAS! Another piece of musical mastery, The Black Canvas is nine tracks full of YONAS' "pledge allegiance to the swag" flow. Since the release of Temptation and Clockwork, I knew this was gonna be a release of the year candidate for me. Been a fan since the  I Am Us project and all I have to say is keep up the good work YONAS! Can't get enough of this guy! Enjoy and support this newly signed artist, folks!

- TD O_o

Nameluss - Drive (Mixtape Review)

W&F favorite, Nameluss, has released his newest project, Drive, for our listening pleasure. I can't get over how much I enjoy the samples this guy uses for his tracks and I love the meaningful lyrics he brings to his tracks. This stuff definitely means something to him, as was made clear to me when I posted Lost Ones a few days back. This is definitely worth a listen folks and, unless he tells me otherwise, its a free download people! Consider this mix-tape on that #repeatcitynowboarding grind on my iTunes.

My favorite track has to remain Let Me Know. I just love the combination of 'luss and YONAS (another W&F favorite) so much here and Shade Sheist does his thing in there as well. This track is a must for anyone who likes a good track to pump them up.

My other favorites on this project include Way We Do It (awesome sample), Lost Ones (awesome sample), Bring It Back, Go And Get It, and Adrenaline Rush (tight flow on this). Yeah...I do realize that accounts for pretty much the whole thing...it's just that good folks!

The Game - Ali Bomaye (2 Chainz & Rick Ross)

Well the line up in this song should just give you a heads up of how sick it is.  All three of them go in on this, even Ricky Ross. I don't usually like Rick Ross but this probably my favorite song he's ever been apart of. This song came out on The Games album Jesus Pieces about a month ago and I haven't been able to stop listening to it. Check it out and enjoy.

Ab-Soul - ILLuminate (Feat. Kendrick Lamar)

I was actually about to not post this, but then I heard K.Dot's verse come in and new it was time for this. Personally, I do not vibe with Ab-Sould all that much, but I do recognize he has some skill on this track and I actually did find myself bobbing my head a little bit to him. Having said that, the aforementioned Kendrick is why this song made the blog. Check it out and enjoy folks!
